The first months of 2026 have marked a turning point for Advanced Biomedical Concept. Across clinical innovation, surgeon education, and global expansion, our team and partners have delivered a series of milestones that reflect the momentum we have been building since the company’s earliest days.
Milestone procedures across Europe and Latin America
In Austria, Dr Gschwantler-Kaulich Daphne performed the first ExaShape 3D case at Universitäts Klinikum AKH in Vienna, one of the most important hospitals in the country. The procedure involved a bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomy in inverted T, followed by prepectoral breast reconstruction using a permanent expander and ExaShape 3D Pocket. One side was oncologic, the other prophylactic.
In Italy, we witnessed the first combined ExaShape + Exafat procedure in a breast reconstruction case. The surgery combined DTI with immediate contralateral symmetrization through fat grafting, showcasing the full potential of our product portfolio when both systems work together.
In Ireland, supported by our distributor Balmain Medical and Sinead Mc Cluskey, the Exafat system was used in a case where 240 mL of purified fat was successfully grafted. The nursing team described the system as easy to handle, highlighting its streamlined workflow from harvest to grafting.

In Sicily, our distributor VEDISE HOSPITAL Spa organized a trial with two plastic surgeons who spent a full day in the OR performing hybrid breast surgery procedures with Exafat. The feedback was immediate and consistent: surgeons highlighted the purity of the dialyzed fat and the quality of the closed-loop processing.

In Brazil, ExaShape was officially launched with national coverage on BandNews TV. Dr Fábio Bagnoli, working alongside our distributor HPF Surgical, led the clinical introduction, describing it as an advancement in how doctors treat their patients through the bilayer bovine pericardium scaffold.

Investing in surgeon education
Clinical adoption depends on education, and education has been at the center of our 2026 strategy.
Our international summit “Mastering the Prepectoral Plane” in Rome brought together 23 surgeons and distributors from multiple countries for an intensive program combining stereoscopic 3D visualization with advanced bovine pericardium-based biological mesh techniques. The event set a new benchmark for how we approach clinical training: bridging the gap between theory and practice.

And to scale our educational efforts beyond live events, we launched the ABC E-Learning Platform, now available to all partners and commercial teams. The platform supports continuous education and ensures that product knowledge reaches every corner of our growing network.

Present at the Barcelona Breast Meeting
Our team attended the Barcelona Breast Meeting, one of the key events in the breast surgery calendar. It was an opportunity to engage with leading surgeons, exchange clinical perspectives, and share the latest on our product portfolio.

What drives us
Every milestone in this article represents a collaboration. A surgeon who trusted our products in the OR. A distributor who championed them in their market. A nursing team who found them easy to work with. A training event where knowledge was shared openly.
Advanced Biomedical Concept exists to make clinically validated biological solutions accessible to more surgeons and, ultimately, more patients. The momentum of 2026 tells us we are on the right path.
