Advanced Biomedical Concept was founded in 2020 in Rome by an international group of breast surgeons, biomedical engineers, and healthcare industry specialists. United by the belief that existing biological mesh solutions were falling short of what patients and surgeons deserved, the founding team set out to develop a better standard.

The first Exashape® prototype was developed in partnership with leading Italian research institutions and tested in collaboration with top-tier breast surgery centres. The result was a CE-marked pericardium-derived membrane that not only provided mechanical support but actively stimulated tissue regeneration.

Today, ABC products are used in 23+ countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. Our portfolio has grown from one product to seven CE-marked devices, and our distributor and surgeon network continues to expand.

Key Milestones

From Distribution to Expertise
Through Vedise Hospital, the team distributed leading reconstructive solutions across Italy. This phase built deep clinical understanding and strong relationships with surgeons in the field.

2018
Innovation Begins
The Bioshield Pocket™ concept was patented, marking the transition from distributor to innovator. Initial production began in Turin, laying the foundation for a new approach to soft tissue reconstruction.
From Experience to Product
Years of hands-on clinical exposure were translated into product refinement. Feedback from surgeons directly shaped the evolution of the technology.
2018-2020

Foundation & Launch
A major step forward: Transition to a larger manufacturing partner in Rome Product optimization and scalability Official launch of ExaShape®. This marked the shift from idea to fully realized company.
