We are proud to announce that our flagship technology, Exashape, has officially entered the Swedish market through an exclusive distribution partnership with Apgar. This move marks a significant milestone in our mission to bring advanced regenerative solutions to surgeons and patients across the Nordics.
Scandinavia has long been a global leader in oncological care, supported by robust data tracking such as the Swedish National Quality Registry for Breast Cancer (NKBC) [1] and the NORDCAN database [2]. With approximately 8,000 to 10,000 new breast cancer diagnoses annually in Sweden [3] and nearly 5,000 in Denmark [2], the demand for reconstructive solutions that prioritize both surgical efficiency and long-term aesthetic outcomes has never been higher across the region.
ExaShape, our acellular bovine pericardium matrix (ABPM), is designed to integrate seamlessly into modern surgical workflows, particularly as European and Nordic centers continue to lead the shift toward pre-pectoral reconstruction [4].
By facilitating a reliable pre-pectoral approach, ExaShape eliminates the need for pectoralis major detachment, effectively resolving animation deformity while optimizing surgical workflow.
Flavio Nanni, COO & Founder “I truly see our entry into Denmark and Sweden as an opportunity to expand the ExaShape user community and to penetrate a competitive and highly selective market. This will encourage further collaboration between clinicians and open up opportunities for additional improvements. It is also beneficial for patients, who will be able to take advantage – just like women living in the countries where we are already present – from innovative and highly efficient technology tailored to their needs as cancer patients (i.e. those who are very ‘vulnerable’). For doctors in those countries, it represents a state-of-the-art therapeutic tool that is proving so effective that it has already become the ‘gold standard’ in many nations.”
Silvia Segales Santolaria Exashape Business Development Manager: “I’m very happy to see ExaShape entering Denmark and Sweden, a meaningful step towards supporting more surgeons and improving patient outcomes in breast reconstruction”
We look forward to collaborating with our distributor to redefine what is possible in regenerative surgery.
Stay tuned as we bring this partnership to life in May, working side-by-side with local surgeons in the OR for the inaugural ExaShape cases in the Nordics.
